Under the COVID-19 global pandemic, school children have to stay home and away from school and their friends, which is crucial for the safety and their health and that of their families. However, this situation may threaten the mental and physical safety of many students, especially those living in disadvantaged areas. There are students with no access to distance education due to family economic conditions, and thus have lost the educational, recreational, and sometimes nutritional support they normally receive from school. In this crisis, the non-profit organization of NICA began its charity activities by distributing educational materials to students of selected schools from the disadvantaged areas of the Gandoman District of Borujen County in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province of Iran. To make sure that the provided help is what the students need, we consulted with teachers and staff who are working in these schools and are closely familiar with the needs of students.
